Positive Action Employment Scheme


The Positive Action Employment Scheme supports both staff and service users/carers with employment issues.

The Trust promotes equal opportunities for employment; aiming to develop mainstream employment opportunities for those who have personal experience of long term health conditions or disability – either directly or as a carer.

The Trust promotes Carers Equal Opportunities Act 2004 and the Trust’s Carers’ Inside Out Charter in considering flexible working arrangements.

The scheme develops and maintains links with local, regional and national organisations to ensure our services reflect best practice in employment support.

Staff must recognise employment, education and training needs of those who use our service and these needs should be addressed at the earliest possible point so they can be reflected in care plans.

Support is offered in a variety of ways, such as:


  • Help applying for job vacancies within the Trust, going through the Recruitment process.
  • Employment retention support if you are employed and experiencing conditions which affect your ability to stay in work.
    This alongside the support provided by Managers,
  • Occupational Health and Human Resource departments.
