To create a healthier environment for everyone, we are now smokefree across all our sites.

Smokefree means that staff, service users and visitors are not allowed to smoke anywhere on 5 Boroughs Partnership sites – including wards, grounds and vehicles.

We’ve taken the decision to go smokefree to protect and improve the health and wellbeing of all service users and employees, visitors and contractors.

As a NHS Trust, we are committed to promoting wellness. It is important that we treat service users in a health and safe environment and that our staff work in a healthy setting.

Allowing smoking anywhere on site would not fit with this smokefree commitment.

Our decision is supported by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence Public Health guidance which recommends that all hospital sites are smokefree.

There is a range of free help and support available to those who smoke to improve quantity and quality of life, whether they wish to stop smoking permanently or for the duration of their appointment or stay with us.

If you have any questions about smokefree, please speak to a member of staff to find out what support is available or contact your local stop smoking specialist advisors.
