About Us

The Podiatry Department is responsible for providing a comprehensive range of foot care services across Knowsley and St. Helens. The range of services include:

 

  • Nail Surgery for ingrowing toenails
  • Assessment of joints of the legs and feet and specialist insole manufacture
  • Wound care / Ulcer management
  • Health Education / Footwear advice
  • Nail Care
  • Removal of Callus (hard skin)
  • Assessment of the lower limb for problems related to circulation and sensation
  • Children’s minor foot ailments
  • Provision of Podiatry input into Falls Prevention Service
  • Foot Screening for patients with Diabetes

Podiatry care is delivered from mainly primary care settings including GP surgeries, clinics and health Centre’s, peoples own homes, residential / nursing homes and day care Centre’s.

In-patient treatments are carried out at Whiston and St. Helens Hospitals.

We also have input into specialist out-patient clinics at the St. Helens Hospital for Diabetes, Rheumatology.
