The self injury support group 'No Secrets' are shortlisted for the 'Making a Difference award'

No Secrets self injury support group was created to provide support for those affected by self-injury and those who may have experienced this in the past and want to help others. Kerri Jones who was the founder of this group has entered all their volunteers for the "Reaching our Award", which is one of ten categories in the awards with Helena’s Homes' Making A Difference Award.

Kerri wanted to nominate them to give them some recognition for all their hard work and dedication. Their volunteers give so much that Kerri just wanted to give something back to them and let them know that we really appreciate them and everything they do. Without them, No Secrets would not be able to continue, and so many people would be without the support they currently receive from them.

Kerri says ‘It's really exciting, as we're hoping to register as a charity soon and we've all had to adjust to a lot of changes recently, but this makes it all worthwhile’.

No Secrets have been short listed and two of their volunteers will attend the awards ceremony at the Saints ground on 11th October. Here they will find out who the winners are. Kerri Said ‘Even if No Secrets volunteers don't win the award, to have been short listed is amazing, I can't put into words how much I appreciate everything they do. It's not just the group facilitators that are included in this, but all our group members who help our with training and share their own personal experiences with staff to help improve their understanding of self-injury. We really value everyone involved in No Secrets’
