No Secrets self-injury support group have been praised for 'making a difference'

Volunteers at a local support group for people affected by self-injury have been praised by Helena Homes for ‘Making a Difference’.

No Secrets won the ‘Reaching Out’ category in the housing provider’s annual award ceremony which took place on 12 October at Langtree Park Stadium.

They were nominated by group founder Kerri Jones.

“It’s our way of saying thank you to the selfless band of volunteers who work so hard on behalf of ‘No Secrets’ to support those who self-injure,” she says.

“They are so passionate about recovery and well-being – working hard to inspire positive change in their community. This award is a wonderful and welcome piece of external recognition for the charitable work that goes on at No Secrets.”

A total of 10 awards were presented on the night, which also marked the 10th anniversary of Helena Homes – a corporate partner of 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s mental health ‘Stamp out Stigma’ campaign.

Rob Young, Chief Executive at Helena, said: “For the past 10 years dedicated volunteers across our communities – many of whom were part of this year’s ‘Making a Difference’ Awards – have been working side-by-side with Helena to inspire positive change in their communities.

‘The daily commitment and effort from our tenants and partners really does make a difference so these awards are our way of saying thank you and celebrating their achievements.

‘Congratulations to all of our winners and runners-up and thank you for your continued support and dedication.”

No Secrets meet every Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm in the Millennium Drop-in Lounge on Bickerstaffe Street, St Helens, WA10 1DS.

Hi! I know this is kind of off-topic but I needed to ask. Does buidnilg a well-established website such as yours take a lot of work? I'm brand new to operating a blog but I do write in my diary on a daily basis. I'd like to start a blog so I will be able to share my experience and feelings online. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or tips for new aspiring bloggers. Thankyou!
