Our Foundation Trust

Becoming authorised as a Foundation Trust back in March 2010 was fantastic news for us and was a real mark of recognition for the quality of services that we provide to our service users across the five boroughs we serve.

Achieving Foundation Trust status comes after a rigorous assessment process where we had to prove that we are financially viable, that we are well governed and legally constituted. Foundation Trusts are NHS organisations that are run a bit differently to NHS Trusts. As a Foundation Trust we are still fully part of the NHS and we are still required to meet nationally set targets and objectives. However, we now have greater freedoms to invest in our services, and we can give our service users, carers, our staff and the public, a greater say in decisions about our future service development and delivery.
